Every year at Grace Assembly of God, we have made it a priority to seek God first in prayer. We do this collectively as a church in January through 21 Days of Prayer. This month is intentional, as it begins the new  year. Together, we faithfully seek God first, trusting in His power alone to create lasting impact in our lives, our church, and our world.

Believe It’s God’s Will For You To Have Victory

  • Deuteronomy 20:4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
  • Joshua 10:8 Do not be afraid of them. I have already given you the victory.
  • Psalm 44:6-7 I put no trust in my bow, my sword does not bring me victory; but you give us victory over our enemies, you put our adversaries to shame.

Fast and Pray Consistently

    • Ask God to help you put God first in every area of your life (schedule, decisions and finances)
    • Ask God to forgive you for any time you have robbed God of what is His – the tithe.
    • Ask God to remove the curse of robbing God of the tithe.
    • Give you courage to be a faithful and consistent and worshipful tither.
    • Thank God for the blessings that are falling on you as a faithful tither

So Gideon built an altar to the Lord there and called it the Lord Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Even in un-certainty, Gideon declares the truth about God…He is PEACE.

• Praise God that He is the one who is Jehovah Shalom—our PEACE.

• Worship the Lord for He is God of Heaven and earth; His peace is present now.

• Praise God that He has given us the ability to live in PEACE as we worship/pray.

• Ask God to fill your life (Mind/Heart/Spirit) with PEACE.

He gives us power over fear.

Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.

Psalm 34:4

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalm 3:3-4, 6

But you, Lord, are a shield around me,my glory, the One who lifts my head high.4 I call out to the Lord,and he answers me from his holy mountain.6 I will not fear though tens of thousandsassail me on every side.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has notgiven us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The influence of the Spirit of God is required to produce a genuinely sound mind. The sound mind Paul speaks of is a mind under the control of God’s Holy Spirit. In the sense of self-discipline, the Greek word sophronismos denotes careful, rational, sensible thinking. Having a sound mind requires a thought process based on the wisdom and clarity that God imparts rather than being manipulated by fear.

• Praise God that He delivers us from all our fears. He is your shield.

• Praise God that He has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a

sound mind.

• Ask God to fill your life with His Spirit, His power, and His love.

• Ask God to put a shield around your life, your marriage, and your family.

• Thank God for giving us His spirit to impart wisdom and clarity for our lives.

His peace guards our hearts and minds.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not beanxiousabout anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

• Thank Him that we can bring every life situation to him in prayer.

• Ask Holy Spirit to teach us to trust the Lord with everything.

• Ask God to have his way with every request we give him, and give us the ability to

trust Him with the process.

• Thank God - for we can cast ALL our cares on Him. Know that He cares for you!

His transforming power renews our mind.

    • Thank God for the Holy Spirit that convicts us and invites us to seek forgiveness.
    • Praise and thank God for the power of forgiveness that He offers us when we ask for it.
    • Thank God that He forgives us our sins and does not think of them again.

    • Ask God to help you forget the harmful past and to heal you from its consequences.
    • Ask God to enable you to see the new things that He is doing that your faith will grow and be strong.
    • Ask God to cause you to have initiative that you might strive toward the peaceful and hopeful future that He has planned for you.
    • Ask God to give you understanding and knowledge of your true identity in Christ.

When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Psalm 50:15 “Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.” Galatians 4:17,22-23 “...the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires... But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Thank God that He is able to provide a way out when tempted. Thank God that He declares that we are stronger than the temptations we confront. Thank God Christ provides us His strength to overcome. Thank God He listens and comes to my rescue when I call out to him when I need him most. Thank God for His Holy Spirit that empowers and can help produce good habits in your life like self-control. Believe Victory over Shame is Possible Freedom Curriculum – Week 2 The devil strategizes things, circumstances, or mistakes we’ve made in such a way that makes us think or see or feel a certain way about ourselves. Victory Over The Spirit of Death/Suicide


Indiana/Johnson County Statistics

  • Indiana is outpacing the national rate for suicide, which claims more than twice as many lives in the state annually as homicides.
  • Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the US for all ages. (Homicide ranks 17th.) It is the 2nd leading cause of death for 15 - 24 year olds, and the 4th leading cause of death for adults ages 18-65.
  • Males accounted for 79.4% (3,730) of all suicides; of those, 93.4% were white males
  • 29.3% of high school students reported feeling sad or hopeless almost every day for two weeks or more in a row resulting in changes in behavior during the past 12 months.  9.9% of Indiana high school students reported that they attempted suicide in the previous 12 months.
  • 19.8% of Hoosiers in grades 9–12 seriously considered attempting suicide during the past 12 months.
  • Nationally, suicide is the second-leading cause of death among those 15–34 years of age, and the third leading cause of death among youth aged 10–14
  • Though depression is known to be a leading cause of suicide, only half of all Americans experiencing an episode of major depression ever receive treatment.

  • That our students will serve the Lord all the days of their lives, that they would fear the Lord and obey His decrees (v. 2)

  • To help our students obtain all the promises that God has for them and walk in the fullness of God’s prosperity and blessings (v.3)

Victory in Our Country

Praise and Thank God . . . .

  • For His abundant blessings on this country
  • For freedom and liberty which are gifts from God
  • For the purposes for which He created this country – to serve the world, to protect the world, to spread the gospel, to be a light
  • He is the God of all nations and times and season
  • For His protection and provision for us. America’s history is filled with divine intervention and miracles for the cause of liberty.

Ask God to help us . . . . . .

REPENT – we need a spirit of prayer and repentance to spread throughout our nation.

Gather the people, Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes; Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ Joel 2:16-17

  • God give us a heart filled with brokenness and humility
  • Forgive us for our pride and arrogance
  • Forgive us for rejecting Your Word and Your laws
  • Forgive us for the American holocaust of slaying millions of the unborn
  • Forgive us for covetousness, materialism, selfishness and greed.
  • Forgive me (make it personal) for the sins I have committed and for the inaction I have taken on behalf of others.
  • May God soften or delay His judgment that is coming to our nation and our world.

RETURN

“Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning. And rend your heart and not your garments." Now return to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness And relenting of evil” Joel 2:12-13

  • May a spirit of prayer and repentance sweep our nation. Start it with me, then my family, then our church, then our community and then our nation.
  • May we return to the living God with all our hearts
  • May we return to the principles of freedom and liberty based on God’s Word
  • May there be a turning of millions of souls to God


REVIVE

…I will pour out my Spirit in those days …The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved. Joel 2:29, 31

  • Send a revival of God’s Spirit to . . . .
    • Our own personal lives
    • Our families and relationships
    • Our church
    • Our community
    • Our state and nation and the leaders
  • May God send a revival to each church in our community – that we may be bold to preach the gospel and to stand up for truth.
  • May God send a revival to our local schools – raising up godly teachers and principals and people of influence.
  • May God send a revival to our children – raising up a generation of students and kids who love Jesus Christ. Raise up a Josiah generation.

RECONCILE

Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. Matthew 12:25

  • Ask God for reconciliation and unity in this country and heal every division (racial, economic, sociological)




Victory In Our Health


Healing Scriptures

“He sent His Word and healed them.” Psalm 107:20

God’s Word contains your healing. Read through these Scriptures everyday. Read them out loud. Record yourself reading them and play it everyday. As God’s Word gets in your spirit man, your healing will begin to manifest as your faith grows.

Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they [are] life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

Acts 10:38 “" . . . God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Matthew 14:14 “And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick”

Romans 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 "Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus (which was for our victory), that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh." - Bodily Health!!!

PRAYER AND FASTING

During the January season of 21 Days of Prayer, we encourage fasting as a spiritual next step that can bring clarity and revelation into your life. You can also choose to fast at other times of the year as you seek God.

TYPES OF FASTS

COMPLETE FAST


In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option.




SELECTIVE FAST


This type of fast involves removing certain elements from your diet. One example of a selective fast is the Daniel Fast, during which you remove meat, sweets, and bread from your diet and consume water and juice for fluids and fruits and vegetables for food.




PARTIAL FAST


This fast is sometimes called the “Jewish Fast” and involves abstaining from eating any type of food in the morning and afternoon. This can either correlate to specific times of the day, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or from sunup to sundown.




SOUL FAST


This fast is a great option if you do not have much experience fasting food, have health issues that prevent you from fasting food, or if you wish to refocus certain areas of your life that are out of balance. For example, you might choose to stop using social media or watching television for the duration of the fast and then carefully bring that element back into your life in healthy doses at the conclusion of the fast.
